Heading further south-east, you will experience the green side of Berlin. The solar boat passes Treptower Park with the Archenhold Observatory. In the distance you can already see the Spreepark ferris wheel. The abandoned amusement park has lain derelict since 2001 and is currently being redeveloped. Many Berliners are looking forward to its reopening in 2024. The Haus Zenner, which the solar ship reaches after about an hour, is just as steeped in history. The restaurant has been around since the 1820s. After being destroyed in the war, it was rebuilt in the post-war period in neo-Renaissance style. Even though the building is still being renovated, the beer garden, which is one of the largest in Berlin, is already open. From here, the view opens onto the beautiful "Insel der Jugend" (Island of Youth). Visitors can reach the island on foot via the Abteibrücke (Abbey Bridge), which is now a popular youth cultural venue where regular cultural events take place. The boat then turns around at the famous "Eierhäuschen". Built in the 19th century, this pub is a real Berlin institution.
